A beautiful and well maintained 1920s hotel, full of local history and flavor. Staff are friendly, obviously motivated. It is very clean and cozy. There are books, puzzles and board games in the lounge. It has a lounge! Real coffee! Super close to shopping, food, etc. It is a welcoming place that you aren't in a hurry to get away from. I feel it's really good value for the money. Will stay again if possible, for sure. Thanks!

From MYR 633 per nightI have stayed at the Portal for over thirty years when I go on fishing trips to the eastern Sierra. Lata, the owner, is warm and friendly. The motel is conveniently located, fairly affordable, and offers great views of Mt. Whitney from the parking lot. There is a small refrigerator in the room to keep my beer cold and a small freezer part in the refrigerator to freeze my trout before the long trip back home through the desert. There is a little coffee pot in the room, with coffee, which is something I don't find in the Las Vegas hotels.

This is the place to stay when you're traveling throught to las vegas. Its cozy, its nice and warm, its clean, the wood creaks a bit giving it so mich loving character, thanks for the room, Jenny! I didnt try the other hotels in the surrounding area, but knowing trees motel is still there, i wouldnt bother trying a different one. Try trees motel for sure!

We were very surprised arriving to this place, the staff was really nice, restaurant good and funny, the rooms really cosy and well decorated, good value for the money and for us a perfect stop, not far from the hot springs.
