Everything is very clean. The staff was very helpful (they even helped us with luggage delivery service). They gave us a free upgrade, and our new room had an awesome view of Tokyo Sky Tree. The room had great facilities, the kitchen had a fridge, a small oven and microwave oven, and the bathroom had a washing machine.

The location is great. This hotel is in the Minatomirai area, which is where most attractions lie. You can walk to some beautiful parks, museums, shops and views of the bay very easily. There is a metro station right outside, and another JR line station is 10 minutes away on foot. A great supermarket, restaurants and coffee shops can also easily be found in the first floor of the building. Speaking of which, this hotel has simply stunning views. It doesn't really matter which direction your room is facing. At 47 stories high (at least), looking outside your room feels awe-inducing. If you're lucky, you will get a nice view to Mount Fuji as well! I believe this may be the second tallest building in Yokohama, and it definitely is top 30 in the entire country at 250 meters high. The staff is great, lounge is really classy and placed right in the middle of an actual observation deck (underrated though, so not crowded at all). Rooms are super spacious for Japanese standards, and of excellent build quality. Room cleaning is thorough and suited to your schedule, at least in my experience. Bed is super comfortable, and the desk is great for working a bit in your laptop if you need to edit photos or send emails.

Great harbour, interesting European connection.
The harbour and Ōsanbashi pier were great, and the flower displays were beautiful. Very interesting architecture related to the presence of Europeans when rebuilding after the Kanto earthquake.

Combines the best of old and new Japan
Kamakura is the best distillation of old and new Japan in the Kanto area, and full of great vibes. Foodies will love it, there are plenty of eclectic shops to check out, and the cultural/historical attractions are many and worthwhile. This is a town for strolling and exploring, and it has several beaches as well.

You must eat Gyouza, the most common Japanese dumpling. It shouldn't be too hard to find since there's a Gyouza place literally on every block. Not a place to visit for first-timers in Japan, but if you have the time and love Onsen or strawberries, it's a great place to visit around Kanto area.

I only had a day in Nikko as I was taking advantage of the 3-day JR Tokyo Wide Pass which allows you to travel in the Kanto region plus use certain Shinkansen tracks for 10,000 yen. I did go to Toshogu Shrine which is famous for the picture of the 3 monkeys and the sleeping cat. It is definitely worth a visit. Tickets cost around 1,300 yen if I remember correctly. To get the most of of Nikko I think a 2 day stay would be ideal, then you can travel out to the Lake Chuzenji.

In downtown(R&D and schools area) Tsukuba, streets and buildings look like ones of USA cities. Actually, 6 lanes streets or a big facility per a quatre mile lot can not be seen any other cities in Japan. Thus, you can transport yourself by your own car easily, also, there are many parking lots whose fares are reasonable. To Tsukuba, from Tokyo(Akihabara, electric avenue), TX: Tsukuba Express train is uncoperablly useful with its high speed, frequent services, low price and convenient location of stations both in Tokyo and Tsukuba. Tsukuba-san and Tsukuba Shrine nearby, are famous sightseeing spots to visit, where you can find good old Japanese tourism culture as well as conventional mountaneous religeon and grand view of Kanto plain all over.

staff friendly and polite, I made the hotel reservation on the booking website, after completing the reservation I realized that the room was for smokers, I asked for a room change, they promptly moved me to a non-smoking room, The meal had a huge variety of food, the breakfast was also fantastic, I definitely want to stay there again

It was a stunningly romantic ryokan, the room was spacious and beautiful, and the meals were exquisite. They accommodated my coeliac partner really well and communicated clearly what she could eat. They even made adjustments and alternatives for her, she was thrilled. The Onsen itself is lovely and the outdoor Onsen has beautiful views. The hotel is set high on a hill overlooking Enoshima Island and Mt. Fuji. The view is, simply, stunning. The village is a quiet little seaside town, which suited us perfectly. The electric train runs along the coast, linking the little towns to Kamakura. The hotel has is a swimming pool (closed when we were there), a golf driving range next door, and a lot of sea activities, such a surfing and small boat/board sailing. It would be a great spot for a few days of R&R from whirlwind touring. The hotel offers a free bus service to and from the local station, but you can walk to anywhere in the village, where there is a (limited) range of restaurants - the food we tried was excellent. The hotel also serves meals. Our room was large and comfortable, with a good amount of clothes storage, a full-size closet, a desk/make-up space and good mirror, a coffee table and chairs, and a small balcony. The bathroom is also large, with a generous sized bathtub. Everything was sparkling clean. Reception and other staff were friendly and very welcoming; communication was easy as many spoke good English. If you decide to stay, book a landmark view room on the 4th floor. Well worth the extra price. But, be warned Fuji-san is not always in view, we had a lot of sea mist on our visit so you may only get half the view you’ve paid for.
