The outdoor hot spring was amazing to go in and the views were brilliant. The restuant I only went in for breakfast and yes it was expensive, but the food was absolutely amazing. Really good location with local walks neaby and very peaceful location.

The hotel was right outside the train station, literally a 10 seconds walk. Location is fantastic. The room was also very clean and comfy and spacious. There is also a restaurant in the hotel for meals. The breakfast is buffet style, maybe abit basic but was nevertheless great. Was buying the akita inu plushies at the in house souvenier store in the hotel and the staff was patient with us, she took a few out and let us choose the ones we wanted to buy. Really like the Japanese hospitality experienced in the hotel. There is nothing to dislike.

Great space in the house, multiple rooms on the ground floor including the kitchen, everything is neat and clean. Koh-san always goes above and beyond: this time, he helped us buy tickets for a performance (which required research and dedication!), and also with a hotel reservation needing phone calls. Thank you so much for all your help, and we hope to be back again one winter -- Akita is our favorite prefecture!

Everything was convenient, clean and pretty, but above everything else was the owners kindness. Constantly present and helpful, they were a delight and an absolute pleasure to chat with. I intend to come visit Akita again, I don't know when, but I'll make sure to come back to this hostel.

The facilities are quite old, but the bath and restroom are renovated and clean. I had a comfortable sleep. I also liked the welcome drink and ramen. The Akita dog museum is nearby, although the dogs were not in the mood to show off when I went there.

The house and garden are simply stunning, recently built but in the traditional Japanese style with tatami mats and sliding shoji paper screen doors.
