Oxford Street
Stretching out for a mile and a half, you can pretty much buy anything under the sun on Europe’s busiest shopping street. Big British shopping institutions like Primark, John Lewis and Selfridges stock most of it, while the smaller shops toward Tottenham Court Road can still turn up the odd gem if you keep your eyes peeled.

The whole world is here.
The whole world is here. I love the busy nature of this street. If you are the type that travel with family, please make a budget first. After my first day with my family, many years when the children were young, I learnt through the hard way. Unlimited spending affected my budget. please don't carry the family to this street without budget.

Oxford Street doesn't have a great reputation among natives of London. However, in the 1980s I would go there to shop at Selfridges for clothes. That's a classy department store and worth a visit.

I love Oxford street, so much to do and see.
I love Oxford street, so much to do and see. My only tip is- If you don't like the rush hours like me, try going there early (very early) in the morning. Oxford as become so so crowded that it's not comfortable walking there

Don't bother!
Don't bother! Over rated tourist trap full of brands you can find on your high street , tat shops and sweet emporia. A real drop in standards and choice from what the old shopping area used to be.

Some buildings are very nice in this buildings and are really good great historical value, some are hardly maintained or never maintained. The good thing is that there is variety of shops in this street for all budgets . They down side is it doesn’t feel safe, the road is relatively narrow ( British standard) and it’s over packed with tourists and obviously lots of mugging going on, I’ve heard of one when I was there for two hours only.

Stylish hotel in a great location, a few yards from Marble Arch tube station and just next to Oxford Street. Room and bed very good and an extensive bar area serving till late. All in all a great stay and a great base for Central London.
-Location near oxford street and transportation (buses and marble arch underground).
- We had a spacious room newly furniture with comfortable bedding, nice and modern bathroom.
Brand new apartment in an excellent location, close to Edgware Road and Padddington station. Easy to walk to Marble Arch, Oxford Street and Marylebone. Very clean. comfy bed, great shower and a well equipped kitchentte. Communication from Concept Apartments made the self check in super easy, highly recommend staying in these apartments.
This is a great find! Perfect location between Bond Street, Marylebone and Baker Street station, and right in the heart of the chic Marylebone village. There are lots of really nice restaurants and traditional pubs nearby and all within walking distance. Selfridges / Oxford Street was within 10 minutes walk too. Spotlessly clean, quiet and super comfy sofa, plus lovely artworks. Highly recommended!
Briliant location. Very good value for money we paid.
I would certainly recomend this for everyone looking for few days accomodation not far away from London city center. Very well reached by public transport. Parks close by offering plenty of space for rest and chill or walks and other activities. Convenient for shoppers = Oxford street not far away. I would stay here again.
Everything! Location was amazing, close to Oxford Street, pubs, restaurants and easy access to the underground. Living space was really comfortable with everything you need. Bedroom was enormous with a comfy super king bed. Hosts could not have been more helpful or accommodating!
Nice location next to Hyde park. I love to walk and 30-40 min by foot to places like Soho and Oxford street was nice. Friendly and attentive staff. Pretty good and versatile breakfast, e.g eggs in three ways: boiled, scrambled and fried.
The location was great in the centre just needed to get a bus to Oxford street past the river. Properly nice and neat, has hair dryer, overall comfortable stay.
Was reading poor reviews after my booking I was worried, on arrival was very welcoming from staff, room was very clean, clean sheets, towels & bathroom was clean with shower, no coffee or tea in room & breakfast was very minimal, coffee weak @ juice was off, location was great 5min walk to Oxford street, very pleasant stay so don’t be put off by bad reviews, would stay again
Location was beautiful right next to St Paul’s Cathedral. Loads of eating places around too. Easy access to Oxford street by tube. Check in was super fast didn’t have to wait at all straight to the desk. Friendly staff.
Lovely place will stay again.

If you want to do some shopping, but want to avoid the crowds, you should stay away from Oxford Street and Portobelle Road on Saturdays
If you want to do some shopping, but want to avoid the crowds, you should stay away from Oxford Street and Portobelle Road on Saturdays. Take a trip to some of the boroughs outside the city's centre and discover the local atmosphere. Ask someone in a shop or the staff at your hotel, if you need a few suggestions for a good day out away from the crowds. I usually ask them where they go for a day out.

Avoid the busiest shopping/tourist areas (there is much more to London than Oxford Street and Trafalgar Square)
