Breakfast was what I expected from a holiday inn. It is consistent. I didn’t like to creepy walk to the pool next door. We used the restaurant over at the crown plaza but never made it to the pool.

I loved downtown because it was visitor friendly. Parking was free on the streets. All the sights were close to each other. You could either walk or drive a few blocks. To see the capitol it is best to park in a garage near by. The Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum is a must see. There was a short performance called Ghost of the library - we loved it. The walk through President Lincolns life from beginning to end was awesome. There is a beautiful park across the street from the library. And plenty of places to sit throughout downtown and eat ice cream from Cold Stone. Its a great place for a quick getaway.

The parking lot was dark with only three other cars in the lot when we arrived. I wasn’t certain if they were open for business until I found the front door unlocked. The clerk greeted me and reassigned our room at my request. They had NOT received my e-mail, through Booking, to change our room from handicap to a King room. I had booked the wrong room by mistake. Although we found the room clean and in order, there was a “spooky” feel to the mostly empty building. We didn’t see or hear anyone else that evening or in the morning at breakfast, check-out. The staff was helpful and friendly. Breakfast was 6:30-8:30!

Great city to explore the Land of Lincoln along historic Route 66.
Grab a map and explore what led Abraham Lincoln to the presidency during a time of unrest that led to the Civil War and ultimately his untimely death due to assignation.
Recommended places to visit include the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, the Lincoln Home National Historic Site, the Old State Capital and the Lincoln Tomb. There are so many monuments and landmarks, including his law office, to explore in historic downtown Springfield.
Visit the Illinois State Capitol. Tours are free. Make a reservation to the Dana-Thomas House. It contains the largest collection of Frank Lloyd Wright glass and furniture in one of his designs. It was his first blank check commission.
Pay your last respect to Lincoln as well as those who served in the military at the Oak Ridge Cemetery. The Lincoln Family tomb is a stunning tribute. The Illinois War Memorials honor those who served and lost their lives in WWI, WWII, Korea and Vietnam.

HUGE BATHROOM!~
HUGE BATHROOM!~
VERY Clean and super awesome that they have a room available an hour before I was driving into town! Breakfast was pretty nice! Loved the bathroom so much that i took a night time and a morning time shower! It was really nice to be able to walk right over to a couple places to eat and walk to Walmart. If you are worried about security, they have plenty of it! I would stay here in a hot minute again!

Springfield has some magnificent buildings: the State Capital Building was impressive inside and out, really worth a visit,
I have visited the Abraham Lincoln Museum on a prior visit and again a very good place to visit.
In my opinion the Fire Service Memorial was one of the best and interesting memorials I have seen around the World.
The room was very "roomy" We wanted a lot of space for our grand daughters to be able to spread out and enjoy themselves. It worked out great. Unfortunately, one of our grand daughters was not feeling well. So, the room had two areas with a door between the sitting area and the bedroom. When anyone wanted to rest or sleep, the other ones could be in the other room watching tv or playing. The pool was nice and relatively warm, compared to a lot of hotels we've stayed at. The breakfast selection was very nice.
The facility was amazing even with it being pet friendly! Quiet and beautiful lobby area. The pool was amazing the kids loved it! The breakfast was great as well. There were enough options to please any palate. Wish I would have booked two nights instead of switching hotels for our next destination. We will be back AND this will be our new choice for accommodations when we visit.
Very bright and airy lobby. Great staff at check- in and otherwise. I had room 216 which was a suite and was very good. They were just starting a complimentary Happy Hour when we started (free nibbles etc) but we didn’t partake though it was tempting. Easy to find location, with plenty of free parking, good nearby Walmart and handy for downtown Springfield (about 10-25 minutes).
Room was very clean and spacious. bed and pillows were comfortable. Shower was really nice and the tub was nice and plenty of room. I liked there was a sink outside of the bathroom and one in the bathroom Very clean hotel and delicious breakfast. Nice pool also. Staff was very friendly and helpful and check in was fast and easy. Great location with plenty of restaurants near by.
The staff was friendly, the rooms were clean, breakfast was delicious, and the price was great. It was also a great location for sightseeing in downtown Springfield. We walked by the Old Capitol on our way to dinner at a nearby restaurant and happened upon an outdoor concert. A really nice experience for our family.
Booked a room and nothing available when we arrived.
No other hotels available in town
MR Patel, went above and beyond and gave us a “out of order room”
The only thing wrong was half of the electricity didn’t work.
At that point it was 1 am, we were about to sleep in our car. Thank you!
Everytime we visit Springfield IL this is the only place we stay. The customer service is phenomenal, it's very clean, they let you check in early if they have rooms available, easy access to the freeway and there's stores and places to eat nearby.
The property itself is quite nice. The rooms are spacious, well-appointed and comfortable, particularly the beds. The quality of the room and efforts of the single hotel staff member on duty are all that saved this from a 1 rating.
The staff at this hotel were very friendly. The hotel was centrally located and very close to many popular Springfield attractions. The beds and pillows were comfortable and clean. There was a nice sized mini refrigerator.
two things
1. Kelly was great at check In. We asked for a specific room location. She quickly took completed our check in as we requested.
2. Breakfast was one of better hotel breakfast we have enjoyed. Very high rating.
Loved all the memorabilia in and around the hotel and the jacuzzi room was fantastic. The staff were lovely too, verry friendly, and the food in the restaurant was very well cooked. A very nice stay.
If you want to stay in downtown Springfield, this is an excellent location being directly across from the Capital and within walking distance to most all of the government buildings.
The staff was wonderful and friendly. The room was very spacious. The hotel is new and the furniture is great. There is car parking available on site and there is no need to pay it.
Quick easy check in... the room was huge and so clean...hand sanitizer everywhere and the breakfast was AMAZING....Best hotel I've stayed at in a very long time!
Staff alone was wonderful needed anything they were there great ppll with great attitudes I will book my stay with Quality everything I visit Springfield
