Azur Hotel by ST Hotels, hotel in Santa Venera

Located in Il-Gżira, 1.3 km from Rock Beach, Azur Hotel by ST Hotels provides accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, private parking, a fitness centre and a shared lounge.

Clean, comfortable. Parking paid separately, but more importantly available, in secluded and cctv-ed courtyard, 50m away. I would recommend taking boat ferry to city centre. Few euro, good views. Just check times outside of main season.

Salini Resort, hotel in Santa Venera

Set on a gentle slope overlooking the Salina Bay and the Mediterranean Sea, the 4-star Salini Resort offers 2 outdoor pools. The spacious and stylish rooms come with either sea or countryside views.

The lobby is big with lots of comfortable seating. We had a room for a family of four, and the kids stayed on a pull-out couch. They didn't complain about the comfort of the bed, but I think a huge reason is because they are little and a thin mattress didn't bother them. The king size bed I shared with my husband was very comfortable. We also though that the breakfast that was served everyday was very nice! The shakshuka was to die for! The staff at the restaurant were very kind. The pool is beautiful with plenty of lounge chairs and a view of the bay.

Tropicana Hotel, hotel in Santa Venera

Tropicana Hotel is set in the heart of Paceville, St Julians, 300 metres from St. George's Beach. The Reception opens 24 hours a day in which check in can be made from 14.00pm onwards.

For the price, it was an amazing and good deal. I didn't expect the breakfast to be amazing, but it was decent—you could at least have some coffee, bread, and cheese. There's nothing more to add.

AX The Palace, hotel in Santa Venera

Just 500 metres from Sliema's bus terminus and Valletta Ferry, The Palace is a 5-star hotel with a rooftop spa with infinity pool overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.

This is the best hotel I have stayed in in 50 years of travelling. The reception staff were kind and attentive as were all the staff, we were honestly made to feel so special. The rooms were amazing, equipped with every conceivable thing you might need from toiletries to drinks and nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff even if you just encountered staff in the lifts they were still all smiles and checking you were enjoying your holiday. Breakfast was varied and plentiful, the restaurants and bars all excellent and the pool area wonderful. Few minutes walk to the ferries and the beach. Loved my first time in Malta and this hotel was one of the main reasons. It’s so refreshing to encounter excellent service, I was made to feel like a millionaire (only this hotel was affordable on top of everything else) Top marks to management and staff.

Santa Venera is a busy district between Valletta and the old capital of Mdina. The buses run to the ferry port to Gozo, Valletta and the hub the other side of Hamrun to access the southern towns so well positioned for exploring. There is a huge supermarket in Hamrum in a new shopping mall, Lidls and 2 Convienience stores open 6am to 9pm daily. 2 churches, many eateries, the Golden Ham is excellent value and good portions, and fantastic Italian bakery/coffee house, they also sell wines etc, and an true Italian restaurant although the service is slow the food is worth waiting for, all in walking distance. The negative is the main road San Guisepp is very busy so choose a room not facing the road.
