The public bath was great and having the washing machines and driers within the area meant you could do your washing while having a bath. You could even go and out your clothes in the drier and get back into the bath. I didn’t try the free nighttime ramen, but it was good to know it was available.

Standard big station hotel with the ever polite Japanese staff. Small onsens on the ground floor. Although in the back of the building it is a bit awkward to have them there. Breakfast was okay.
Nothing great, but nothing wrong. If you want to stay near the station it's a good place.

Our stay was brief - only two full days - but in addition to its castle and historic district made for walking, Matsue is a good jumping off point for day trips to Izumo Taisha shrine, the Adachi Art Museum and the garden at Yushien.
One evening we had an enjoyable meal at a local "okonomiyaki" restaurant on the quiet street behind the hotel. The 88-year old proprietress was energetic, fun to speak with, and recommended a very tasty locally-brewed sake.

Matsue Castle and the surrounding castle complex are incredible. It’s a far more authentic experience of feudal era Japanese castles than the remodeled, refurbished, and in many ways entirely rebuilt castles of Osaka, Nagoya, and Hiroshima, to name a few.

It's a wonderful and charming city! The art museums, castle/historical sites, and natural scenery are great. We had a lovely time just walking around the side streets and along the river. A hidden gem of Japan for sure!

Matsue castle is the best to recommend to you, to see from the outside and inside of old wooden architecture. I also recommend to visit an old great Izumo-taisha shrine by train from Matsue to Isumo-shi and bus from that station.

Matsue is a nice little city with a few interesting places to see (such as the castle). Its public transportation does leave a bit to be desired in terms of frequency, but, on the other hand, there are conveniences like a bus from Matsue station to Hiroshima that runs at thirty minute intervals. It is a bit far from more prominent locations nearby, though, which made scarce public transit a bit bothersome.
This is a very new hotel across the street from Matsue Station but to get there you go through an underpass. The spotlessly clean room was small but perfectly fine for a single person and there were a lot of electrical outlets. Although my window faced Matsue Station, it was very quiet. I really enjoyed the breakfast buffet which had quite a variety of food and drinks. The comfortable well lit eating area had several small tables and a long hightop table with stools. The public bath was a real nice addition.
Top to bottom, I’m traveling 16 days, so far best ever. Old style Japanese Life music to so many choice , fancy dinner, great Onsen to its view. But one day to make other day to female , you can have even you stay a day, either morning or night It worth it every penny. Stay there two days. I did one but already scheduled other town, if you do , please try two days
Everything you need for a capsule hotel including a separate storage room for all your bags. Everything is secured behind your own personal key card, so security of my stuff always felt nice. The staff made your bed every morning and resupplied towels and pajamas. The bathrooms/showers were excellent. The whole place was generally very clean as well.
There are too many to mention! First of all, there was an English speaking staff. While, I’m always prepared to use some Japanese, it feels more welcoming as a foreigner when one staff member speaks English. Next, the buffet breakfast for ¥2300 was 100% worth it! It had a lot of local options. Last, the sky baths were simply heavenly.
We had a great time at GuestHouse AZMO. The facilities are super clean and the house offers everything you need for your stay in Matsue. The owner is really friendly and provided us with a lot of information about the things to do in the area. He even drove us to Matsue station when we had to leave early in the morning.
The location is just right in front of the JR Matsue Station, so it's very convinient to catch up with your schedule for train or bus. For the price we paid, it was pretty much average and might be a very good choice for solo travellers. The room didn't smell like cigarettes, so it was a pleasant stay.
The hotel is clean, the cubicles are comfortable, and the amenities are nice. I especially appreciate the self-service counter of skincare products and other self-care items. The buffet-style breakfast is nice, too, and contains a nice selection of both Japanese and western breakfast dishes.
Location was great. Rooms and overall appearance was clean. English speaking staff. Hotel does have a parking tower but there is also “Times Parking” that the hotel was able to validate for us. overall great stay and location. a budget friendly stay with great amenities.
Great location, walking distance from the castle, museums and other sights. Very clean and good sized rooms. Staff were so lovely! This hotel also has a coin laundry and a convenience store inside the hotel. Perfect for international travellers. Very recommended!
From the check-in to the check-out nothing to complain about.
Check-in/out self made with the machine or even with locals very self explaining.
Very close to the main station. Clean and absolutely a great traditional japanese experience.
Very well situated near JR Matsue Station. People are very kind and helpful. Rooms are spacious and well furnished (Yukata, green welcome tea, TV, air conditioned... and very good WiFi). Showers are also very clean.
A lovely, tidy, quiet, Japanese house, near the station, close to the centre of Matsue. The futons were comfortable and warm. The house is attractive, and subject to comments below, set up well.
The hotel location is nearby JR and the car-hire shops. it satisfied me with the availability so much.
Also, we can find lots of fine Japanese restaurants of fresh seafood and beef near there.
Extraordinary stay in Matsue. After we found the futon in the hallway, it was a comfortable stay. We didn’t have the time to test the sauna, but everything else was fine.
Reasonably large rooms by Japanese standards.
Comfortable beds.
Located halfway between Matsue Station and Matsue Castle.
A good range of choice for breakfast.
The hotel is located in the old part of Matsue, very close to the castle. It has an excellent onsen and the neighbourhood is sprinkled with restaurants.
Great dorm/sharehouse like hotel in center of town. Got little kitchen, lounge, showers, laundry, everything you need to survive. No issue to WFH there.
