Casita Rica is affordable. It's remote and it's quiet, and for the things we wanted to experience in Huon Valley the location suited us. The sunrises from the property are really special, as are the local beaches/bays. The property is a decent size for two people and it's modern and decorated tastefully. It's warm enough in our opinion without the fire or heater going, but if you do use the fire it does get toasty. The stove and oven make for some nice home cooked meals. It's a nice and decent drive to places to dine.

Can't possibly write what we loved as there isn't enough room. The location was amazing - so peaceful and beautiful. The house was so lovely - very cosy and comfortable. It was just beautiful and we had a wonderful couple of nights. Communication with the host was great. It is just down from the winery which was awesome. Loved everything about it.

If you visit Hastings Caves be sure to take some warm clothing as it is 9 degrees inside (something we didn't know). The cave entry ticket also includes free use of the thermal pool. Just pool entry is a very reasonable price at $2.50 per child so always worth a visit.
There is so much to do in the area. We walked the track to Duckhole Lake.
We will definitely be back for more sightseeing.
