The room was comfortable and clean. We had a great night’s sleep and were able to de-stress after a bit of a stressful week! We loved the double bath and the view, and seeing the birds fly past.

The villa was exceptionally clean and very comfortable, and we especially loved the rainforest shower and the outdoor bath. Dinner at the Kondalilla Restaurant in the resort was also exceptional and perfect for a special occasion.

Mapleton is a quiet area close to natural beauty. Not too far to travel for a light meal. Fish and chips great, meals at Mapleton Tavern. Coastal and country views. Good location for a base. Not too far to drive to Flaxton, Montville and onto Maleny.

Mapleton is one of a string of small villages along the Blackall Range ridge with access to lots of rainforest walks, long and short, lakes, cafes, shops, galleries and restaurants. The Mapleton Tavern had good food and was open on a Monday night when many other venues were closed. Mapleton is much smaller and quieter than its neighbours Maleny and Montville and a nice alternative with less passing tourist traffic.

Over several years both couples have visited Mapleton, Montville and Malaney and always included Eumundi Market on a Wednesday as part of each trip. Enough shopping for anyone, and for those with the O.B.E. (over bloody eighty) easily embraced, or ignored!

Mapleton is central to many tourist attractions e.g Australia Zoo, enjoyable drive along the range taking in Maleny through to Kenilworth for some dairy products and ice-cream at the Kenilworth Dairy and a scenic drive up to Mapleton via the Obi Obi Rd. Taking in the many of the falls, as well as the Maleny Cheese and Maleny Dairy Tours etc. A pleasant and short drive to coast.
We had a great weekend away here at Pencil Creek, the owner Phil was really welcoming and really helpful (he even dropped us off and picked us up) from Mapleton Pub on our first night so we could have a few drinks on our kid free weekend which is really kind of him to do for us. It had everything we needed to cook dinner in the cottage on the second night.
Was relaxing/cosy with the woodfire in the cottage.
Would go back again, we had a great time, and its close by to all the Hinterland attractions which was great.
Would recommend.
This property is located in a quiet location close to Mapleton township. We had a lovely view out over the valley and the rooms were beautifully decorated and very comfortable with ALL the amenities you could wish for!
The refrigerator was well stocked with milk, juice, bread, croissants, jams, butter etc and breakfast cereals, coffee capsules... were also supplied.
The owner, Renee, and her sons looked after us so very well.
Beautiful breakfast, freshly made to order. alternative cereals and divine coffee expresso.
The shared area was great space to meet the other guests, which I miss when I go to hotels, its very impersonal.
Very close to shops, for rural property. loved the renovations and will be stealing a few for my new home.
Reception was very friendly. Facilities were super nice. It was a nice feature that everything was off the grid. Definitely enjoyed the double patio bath tubs with a sunset view. Would recommend to others if visiting the area, especially with Mapleton National Park just down the road that has a nice lookout.
The hosts are just lovely! Super cheerful, super friendly and we really admired how much effort they put in shaping their garden!
The room is spacious and cozy. It has a nice Provence-alike vibe :) The breakfast is HUGE. I used to see way fewer options (and less tasty) in hotels than in this lovely B&B.
great location for hike to Baxter falls/ mapleton falls. Good communication from staff. very generous sized rooms, comfortable beds and great shower with good pressure and hot, hot water- just what we needed after a day hiking in the rain. great kitchen facilities. beautiful grounds and gardens.
Beautiful little spot, the room was very large and had everything you could ask for. Very unique stay, the hosts made breakfast which was amazing so tasty. Very quiet very comfy, you wont regret staying here, very close to mapleton and the motorway.
Amazing location just 2 minutes walk to Mapleton Falls National Park, the accommodation was excellent, with everything we needed in a setting that was spectacular. Renee is an excellent host, who made sure we were totally happy with our stay.
June and Charlie were perfect hosts and provided us with an excellent cooked breakfast. We would have no hesitation in returning there and highly recommend the Lodge for an overnight stay in Mapleton.
Absolutely beautiful spot! just across the road from Mapleton National Park. Could hear the waterfall from our cabin. Cabin is thoughtfully designed to be a perfect romantic get away.
Great location and the room was well set up. A quiet spot to simply relax. Easy access to everything we needed in Mapleton and a short drive away in Montville.
