Conveniently set in the Chuo Ward district of Tokyo, 9h nine hours Ningyocho is situated 300 metres from Suginomori Shrine, 500 metres from Koamicho Children's Park and 300 metres from Amazake Yokocho Shopping Street. The 2-star capsule hotel has air-conditioned rooms with a shared bathroom and free WiFi. The property is non-smoking and is located a few steps from Sankatsu Yukata Museum.

I was staying in Nine hours Suidobashi and Shinjuku last September. Compare that brunch, and highly recommend Ningyocho. 1. Have a Spare place locker and shower floor. : Another brunch tiny space so when packing and opening luggage is very hard. Here so comfortable. 2. Easy access metro: Tokyo station, Ueno, Narita, and other main visit areas access is so easy.

Attractively located in the Shinjuku Ward district of Tokyo, Rembrandt Cabin Shinjuku Shin-Okubo is situated 300 metres from Meotogi Shrine, 500 metres from Koizumi Yakumo Memorial Park and 400 metres from Yodobashi Church. This 1-star capsule hotel has air-conditioned rooms with a shared bathroom. The property is 100 metres from Zenryu-ji Temple, and within 1.2 km of the city centre.

1. Very close to Shin-Okubo station, which is very convenient, close to very popular Shinjuku district, a lot of popular attractions are in walkable distance from the place, 7-11, Family market are super close as well. 2. The staff spoke English a bit, I’ve never struggled about communication with them. Very polite and kind. 3. The place is very clean: they can change your bedclothes everyday, the showers were also fresh and clean, had body soap, shampoo, conditioner, the common area as well (if you also clean after yourself). 4. The capsule itself was quite spacious. I’m 167 cm tall, it’s was comfortable to sit, lay down, you don’t feel like you are in a box. Air conditioning and temperature was good enough. 5. Free coffee, tea, some juices. They give also for free pijama, soft slippers, towels, toothbrushes. You’ll get also a locker which can fit the medium sized suitcase and have a room to hang on your clothes and separate section for shoes. You can also storage some important things at the reception in different locker. 6. You can (read: need) leave your keycard at the front desk in order to prevent loosing it, which I highly recommend to do (one my friend lost it and the fine was huge). 7. There is a washing machine (600 yen for 1 load, 2 hours) which is also a good option if you have smth to wash, laundry detergent will be added automatically. There is also a drying option.

Looking for a capsule hotel?

Developed in Japan, these cheap 'pod' hotels are a novelty for any traveller. With rows of small single bed enclosed capsules, accommodation is basic and intended to be overnight. There is separate storage for luggage and gender-separate communal bathrooms — some capsule hotels also have a sentō, a Japanese bath house, often for male guests only.

Conveniently placed, women-only capsule hotel near Akiba station. The capsules are good if a bit too warm, but there’s lots of bathrooms dotted around the building and a downstairs lounge for eating. No microwave, but there’s boiling water and vending machines. The downstairs shower room has laundry machines (both washer and dryer) and pyjamas are included as part of the linen. Everything gets changed every day (you can’t opt out) and they clean the place from 10-4 so you can’t hang out during the day.

This capsule hotel was the first place we stayed in Tokyo for two nights. The sleeping pods are well designed, with a pull down screen, comfortable bedding, convenient and thoughtful areas to put your items and clothing. The lockers were sizeable, able to fit big suitcases. The room itself had multiple toilets, never had to wait for them despite a full room. The shower and onsen facilities were wonderful and convenient to use, also open all night so you can usually be by yourself if you wanted to! Breakfast was convenient, and tasty.

The location was a little hard to find but it was in a good, convenient area. My pod was much more comfortable than I expected. It was lovely and quiet. I lived in Japan for 10 years in the 1990s and never dared to stay in a capsule hotel. Now aged 60 back on a visit, I tried this out and it was perfect and I’d definitely stay again.

It is excellent capsule hotel for solo travellers. It is close to Akabane station (1-2 min walk), eating places, like Matsuya (24hours open), etc. The price is excellent too. For Tokyo, it is very cheap. The Check-in works until 00.00. It is very convenient, when you have very late arrival at Haneda airport (1 hour by train). The front desk is perfect!

Stayed 8 nights. Extremely clean, stylish, new and modern capsule hotel with Japanese elements incorporated into the design and concept (wooden design, Jap music at the reception). Capsule beds were spacious, well ventilated and comfortable. Can’t emphasise how clean the place is. Fresh yukata and towels every morning. Onsen and sauna were well maintained. Very conveniently located near Shibuya. It was my first experience with a capsule hotel and I was very happy with it. The capsules feel private. It's very quiet in there. There are small lockers for each person which can fit a carry on bag and shoes. Bathrooms and facilities were very clean. Showers were always free and available when I used them. Shampoo, conditioner, shower gel provided. I felt really safe there. Staff were friendly and check in and out were very easy.
