The Mason Arms is located on Devon’s Jurassic Coast, just a 10-minute walk from Branscombe Beach. Our 10/10 stay at this place started the night we arrived. After a somewhat harrowing drive in the dark/rain/fog down a tiny road we were exhausted. The lovely man (Dan who it turns out was just filling in but did a bang up job) at the check in just took us straight to our (out of this world) room and said "Check in in the morning, no problem" and handed us a pot of cream (... this is for your coffee/tea). The room itself was huge and gorgeous with a full sitting room area, mini kitchen and a giant king sized bed that was so comfortable I would still be there if I could. The bathroom had a great shower and a giant bath tub. We stumbled across to the pub and (although it was past kitchen closing) the chef made us a lovely salmon dinner. Things just got better from there - gorgeous full breakfasts, lovely dinners, kind and caring staff EVERYWHERE. The town is tiny but stunning with plenty of interesting historical buildings and great hikes both around the area and over to the next town (charmingly called Beer). Thank you to Dan, Sophie, Connor and Hannah for making our stay so incredibly special.

The Hoops Inn & Country Hotel is a Grade II listed property nestled within unspoilt countryside and 5 minutes’ drive from a scenic coastal walk. Everything was really good. Food, Staff etc Really could not complain

Located in Tiverton and only 38 km from Sandy Park Rugby Stadium, Bridge Guest House provides accommodation with river views, free WiFi and free private parking. The property is in an excellent location with beautiful views of the river. Richard and Ling were fantastic hosts, really friendly and helpful. Ling noticed that we liked decaf tea at breakfast and then when we went back to our room there was a pile of decaf tea by the tea and coffee making facilities. it’s this attention to detail that makes such a difference.

Located in Malborough, 4 km from Salcombe, Little Orchard House Bed & Breakfast has two ensuite rooms with countryside views and private off road parking which has a raised decked area with patio... Beautyfull house and room, wonderfull decoration, very clean, wonderfull hostess and host (helped us with adjusted breakfast (food intolerances) and with our car break down during a public holiday), lovely garden view, parking space for our rental car on the premiss, close to a local pub and supermarket and bus stop. Wonderfull place to stay over for one or 2 nights on (y)our way e.g. to the beach in the south. Our best bed and breakfast in the UK so far.

Channel Vista Guest House is set in Combe Martin, 14 km from Barnstaple. Guests can enjoy the on-site bar. Free private parking is available on site. Rooms include a flat-screen TV. A delightful house and room. Clean. Breakfast very nicely cooked

Housed in a historic building, the recently renovated The Smugglers Rest offers accommodation with water sports facilities and free WiFi. From the moment of arrival exhausted after walking from Combe Martin I knew I had been fortunate to choose the Smugglers Rest as my place for a day off on the South West Coast Path to rest and recuperate and catch up on work. A very warm welcome, Will offering to carry my bags to the room and a lovely room were just the start. Miss Fea's Bistro is a great restaurant and I was lucky to get a table for both nights of my stay as it is packed out most nights and the menu is amazing, breakfast was also superb both mornings of my visit. What Will and Stacey have done gave me vibes of a place visited on Dartmoor more than 20 years ago which was the best weekend with my best mate and his wife. It is just lovely and I feel very lucky to have been able to experience what they have created. I do not need to head back to Mortehoe as my journey of the South West Coast Path continues a week at a time over the next 3 years or so but can't wait to visit again and hopefully bring my daughters so they can experience the amazing hospitality.

A recently renovated bed and breakfast in Moretonhampstead and within 21 km of Newton Abbot Racecourse, The Old Post House features a terrace, comfortable allergy-free rooms and free WiFi. Everything was great, the room is super clean and comfortable (loved that huge mug and USB charger in the lamp!).
