Penrith is a beautiful little town. I arrived via bus from London. The accomodation was easy to walk to from the train station. I was met so kindly at check in. After a long bus ride and still struggling from jet lag, I had the most amazing sleep. The bed was very comfortable and the area is so peaceful. The breakfast in the morning was delicious. It was a very lovely stay. They were able to assist me with any questions, very accomodating.

First class hotel. Friendly helpful staff, beautiful, comfortable room and excellent food. We were driving south from Scotland to Liverpool to join a cruise ship, unfortunately due to bad weather conditions our itinerary was changed and we elected not to sail. I rang the hotel on our way back north and were delighted that they were able to give us the same room. Would definitely stay at Roundthorn again.

Cute studio, a big room with all you need for a couple nights away. Perfect hot tub in a lovely front garden with fairy lights and a space to sit outside. Location was excellent a minute away from anything you need. We have loved trying different cafes in the area of which there are plenty. Helen is a lovely host too, very accommodating and the chocolates were a nice touch to the room. Me and my boyfriend loved staying here and we would definitely come back again

The property was maintained and decorated beautifully, in keeping with the age of the building. It has a lovely atmosphere which gives a relaxing feeling and is a stepback into the world and time in which it was created. Amy is a wonderful host and ensures you a tremendous welcome, doing all she can to make you comfortable. Gardens are waking up to spring and will be in full bloom soon. A fabulous location for enjoying the Westmorland countryside and superb landscapes for walking, painting, etc. Will be glad to return.

Room was spot on. Comfortable bed with a choice of pillows. Warm and quiet. Nice bathroom with lovely toiletries, a selection of towels and dressing gowns for the spa. Spa was simple but nice and relaxing atmosphere. Steam room, pool, large jacuzzi. Great value. Remember to book the spa in advance though, in case it fills up.

We were upgraded to an apartment and it was excellent. We had dinner and breakfast in the main building and was not disappointed with lovely food well prepared and served by friendly staff. The external garden areas have many seating areas where you can enjoy a drink in a relaxed atmosphere. Super stay all round and will be back. .

The cottage was in a perfect location. It was quiet and half a mile from a village pub. Our hosts left a complimentary bottle of wine and a pack of luxury biscuits which was a nice touch. We left the property clean and tidy which they took the time to thank us for. All-in-all it was a relaxing stay.
