The Cock Inn Hotel

Sheering

In the small village of Sheering, this family run Public House offers 12 en-suite bedrooms. The Cock Inn is a family run free house that has been run by the Bedford family for over 20 years.

The Cock Inn hotel is less than 1 mile from the M11 and 1.5 miles from Sawbridgeworth station which is just a 40 minute train journey to London and to Cambridge. This place is a hidden gem. The room was large and basic, with everything that we needed. Very clean, comfy beds, lots of extra pillows. The room had an iron and ironing board, which was very useful, expecially if your there for business. The bathroom was great with a bath and constant hot water. The bar connected to the rooms, was very nice, with a log fire, a great selection of drinks and very taste food, and the breakfast was excellent. A full English with the best sausages I have had for a long time. I need to know what they are. The best part of this place is the staff. I highly recommend this, expecially if your there for business.

All of the stylish rooms offer free Wi-Fi, a Freeview TV and en suite facilities. Some rooms have a relaxing hydrotherapy bath and a 42-inch plasma TV. Firstly, the team were absolutely brilliant, very friendly, and couldn't do enough for you. The Sunday lunch is to die for, the best I've had in ages. I would thoroughly recommend staying here.

Italian cuisine is served in the Prezzo restaurant, situated within the George, and coffee shops and retail stores are within 100 metres of this guest accommodation. The lady who prepared our room went above and beyond. She really took the time to make sure we felt looked after. The pub was closed for an event for a few hours and she even came down to make sure we weren't hungry and offered us to have some food made up especially. I wish I'd asked her name as it's rare to get service like that these days! Beautiful room and location too. We will certainly be staying again!
