Amazing location, a little bit unusual breakfast deal, you get the food in the evening and keep it in the fridge. But it was nice. I liked it, the muffin was very good and you can eat in bed.

Friendly, courteous, and helpful staff. Charming, cozy atmosphere, both in the pub and in the room. Walk downstairs for your big, delicious, free breakfast. Then walk outside and enjoy the inn's convenient location in this lovely town surrounded by beautiful scenery. All that for a good price.

The hosts were very welcoming. Friendly, accommodating, nothing was too much trouble and they went above and beyond in making me feel at home. The room was clean, well equipped and cosy. Breakfast and evening meal both excellent.

The personal touch of the staff. They were very thoughtful when it came to little extras, especially for our toddler (he absolutely adored having his very own cuttlery and plate/steering wheel). There was always time for a little (informative or just interested) chat.

This location is a local pub in a tiny village. It is about 20 minutes from Bakewell and those 20 minutes are spent driving down country lanes...which I found to be a absolutely glorious. The space was clean and well maintained. The pub was charming. Everyone who worked there was lovely. Highly recommended this place.

The room was a reasonable size and clean and in good decorative order. The bed was outstanding probably the largest and best we have ever slept in. A good thick mattress with a mattress topper on top so firm support with a soft top - just what you want after a day out walking. Good sturdy bed base so no creaking. We loved the breakfast, start with the 'continental' and then move on to the 'Full English' - perfect start for a day out. We also ate in the evening and there is a reasonable selection of choices on the menu. The homemade pies are excellent and the portions are large. The hotel has been tastefully decorated mixing modern colours and lighting with older features which all fit together well. Plenty of free parking opposite the hotel. Friendly and helpful host made the stay very enjoyable. Great location for the Peak District with walks direct from the hotel and many more ambitious walks and places to visit are available within short distances.
