Set in secluded gardens, Clementine's Town House Hotel, BW Premier Collection has free WiFi and characterful rooms. Clementine's Town House Hotel, BW Premier Collection is just a 10-minute walk from York Minster and the Theatre Royal.

Where do I start. Owing to the national rail workers' strike, our plan to travel on the overnight sleeper train from Inverness down to London, and then potentially needing to get back to Hull, we figured we were better served getting to York hours before the strike kicked in, spending a couple of nights in York to sandwich the strike, and heading to Hull afterwards. I cannot express how blown away we were with this place. Not your archetypal city centre hotel, Clementine's retains a very rustic, unique vibe, is impeccably presented and maintained, and is quite honestly perhaps the best overnight property I've ever stayed. A little away from the city centre (albeit only a ten minute walk from the city walls), the peace and tranquility in the leafy outlying streets of York makes this the perfect place to stay when you've got little ones in tow. My ten year-old adored the place, I utterly adored it, and for sure on returning to York - which we will - it's here or bust.

This guesthouse was so fantastic I had to leave a bit of a longer review than i normally would. My wife and I love the city of York anyway so we were excited to be coming back. But walking in the front door of this gorgeous, quirky guesthouse we knew we were in for a treat. We have quirky and eclectic tastes anyway, and this guesthouse far exceeded our expectations. Firstly the room was lovely and comfortable, and we felt right at home. But it's the front 'lounge/chill out' area that is the best thing. It's like stepping into someone's funky lounge room, actually a bit like our place lol. The owner has such great tastes. Lot's of knick knacks everywhere, funky little corners to chill out in, books everywhere to read. We got a great Nepalese takeout from down the road, a bottle of wine, and spent the night together reading some of the books to each other laughing and having such a wonderful and relaxing time. The place is so comfortable, nooky and feels so nice. And super close to town. I would recommend this place to everyone, and we can't wait to stay there again. The staff in the morning we spoke to were super lovely too. I wanted to say to the owner and the staff thank you from my wife and I, and please don't change anything about this place. There are already so many generic boring places out there to stay in. This place's differences are what makes it so refreshing

The Old Forge offered all we needed for a weekend trip to York with two small children. The house was quite spacious and gave us enough room to play and have family time when we were in. Communication with the owners was always swift. Location was perfect, not too far from town centre and very quiet surroundings.

Stunning and well maintained property, plenty of room for our family of 3 adults/2 toddlers/1 baby. Everything was spotless, and the property owner was very responsive to any issues (boiler was off when we arrived for eg but quickly fixed). Ample on street parking and a handy parking pass which was great so we could leave the car worry free. A very easy walk to the walled section of York, every attraction couldn't have been more than a 15min wander at toddler pace!

There was plenty of room for a family with 2 young children. Had everything we needed including a cot, high chair and bath. The location was amazing very central, but the complex was quiet and modern. The parking as well was a huge bonus. We would definitely stay again.

It was a warm and cosy place, I'll definitely be returning when I can. I travelled with a toddler so it was nice coming to a family friendly place with a wonderful host. Its central to local shops and some good restaurants. It has a nice park, I couldn't take my daughter but maybe next time.

We were staying with our toddler and we loved the family concept: teepee, books and toys in the room, the train going around the room in the bar, the kids menu at the restaurant - it’s little touches but our child was excited and we were happy. I also appreciated that our family room and bathroom were both spacious. The food at the Pearly Cow was excellent and their steak tartare and chateaubriand are unmissable.

This was a very comfortable b&b, well placed for the station and for walking into the town the next day. Danielle and Tarquin were good hosts, they responded swiftly to messages I sent, sorted a cot and high chair for my baby and were welcoming (they even got a plaster for my brother’s foot when he had a blister). The room was comfortable and clean and the breakfast was tasty and generous in amount. A gem of b&b, very family friendly.
