Fantastic find- lovely host - hospitable, polite welcoming and had lots of good advice about the locality, I was on my own - a female - but felt safe and relaxed in this very homely, clean and well run establishment - I will be back with my husband who was having surgery at tyneside hospital hence the overnight stay. - I arrived stressed, tired and windswept but was soon put at ease and made welcome ,my room was clean, quiet, airy and light with everything I could need- breakfast was amazing - 👏 tip- try the banana bread home made - mouth watering as was the perfectly cooked breakfast - thank you so much for a lovely stay and I will be back with my better half definitely - a brilliant guest house. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

The weather was so bad that I don't think we saw the best of the town.
However the front is very clean and there are a few shops in the town centre plus a cinema and a concert hall.
It is a good place to use as a base to visit other places and the bus service is very good if you don't have a car.

I was disappointed there wasn’t a tourist information office but the library staff were very helpful as was the guest house owner.
I enjoyed visiting the landmarks and just walking along the coast. The Jam Jar cinema was also worth a visit.

Whitley Bay is an up and coming town with some lovely shops.
Whitley Bay is an up and coming town with some lovely shops. It also has easy access to Newcastle and the surrounding area by road and by Metro. In the summer Whitley Bay is busy but in the winter it is much quieter.
I have visited this town many times while visiting my daughter. On this occasion my visit was not a holiday; I was helping my daughter to move house.
Great location, close to sea front and 5 mins from the metro station. The metro takes you across Tyne and Wear and into Newcastle.
I know the area and it is quite run down but some new properties being built and the area being revamped etc so don’t let the first impressions of the street put you off.
Stayed in Room 1. Basic kitchen equipment, microwave and kettle.
Local coffee was a really nice touch.
Easy to check in with codes which are emailed.
Fast responses to messaging in app.
The single room I stayed in for 2 nights was small but clean, smartly decorated and had everything I needed, including an onsuite shower room, flat screen tv, hanging rail and comfy bed. Extremely reasonably priced and the hosts were lovely. Location was fantastic, 5 minutes walk from the Spanish City, 10 minutes walk to Cullercoats Bay and less than 5 minutes walk to Whitley Bay town centre and the metro station.
Love the coast, Whitley Bay and tynemouth being 1 of our favourite areas. Wasn't sure what to expect from the reviews but caravan was OK, bed was comfortable.. Overall we have used caravans on sites for yrs and will continue to do so hopefully this 1 will have a little update and we will be happy to come bk.
Very clean hotel with reassuring high standards of hygiene.
On East Parade - right on promenade. Close to bus stop to Newcastle( 3 minute walk). Near Spanish City.
Extremely comfortable bed- had great nights sleep
Great breakfast to set you up for the day..cereals, cooked breakfast buffet, toast
Beautiful guest house in the heart of Whitley Bay. spotlessly clean throughout, great hosts who were very friendly and welcoming. serving one of the best breakfasts that I've had in a guest house. if you are thinking of coming to Whitley Bay, then look no further than the Metropolitan guest house
Plenty free on street parking, plus parking lot in rear of property. A stones throw from for Cullercoats beach, with Whitley bay and Tynemouth a short walk. Co-op at the end of the street very useful. Sizeable bedrooms and beds very comfortable, excellent wi-fi and a fabulous tea-pot
Very comfortable- 3separate bedrooms. Very good value for money, lots of parking and everything we needed in the caravan. Owner was easy to contact and had left a basic food pack - biscuits, etc.
Nice having a slope and terrace entrance as easier than steps on some units
Breakfast was delicious, host Michael was very accommodating with a slightly later check in due to my train as well as of assistance with my departure arrangements. Lovely hotel, 5 mins walk from town and coast and only half hour metro to Newcastle
The hotel is well located for everything in Whitley Bay. Breakfast was top quality and the room had lots of nice touches that many hotels miss. The welcome was friendly and helpful.
Rooms were lovely, everything spotlessly clean, friendly hosts very welcoming. Would definitely recommend. 5 🌟. Dog friendly too which is a bonus. Breakfast was lovely.
A very nice comfy room, clean bathroom and very good smell of sheet. It's also very close with just 5 minutes walk to Whitley Bay Metro to Newcastle City Centre
