First of all! I booked 4 people for 4 days. The day before arrival ALTIDO asked if we wanted bed linned for the sofabed, it was 25£ extra!!!!! So when we arrived we had to make the sofa bed our self 🥺 It said that the bed was extra large and that is not true and the sofabed was very hard to sleep on 😑 No kitchen paper at arrival! And you have to take your own garbage out to the container bin when depature. So we will not use ALTIDO again! And there was 2 pc of coffee and no thé in the ‘welcome box´ at arrival 😑

We stayed as two couples, with the room being advertised as having a double bed and a sofa bed. However, after booking we had to pay an extra £20 for bed linens for the sofa bed, which I thought was cheeky enough - but when we arrived, the sofa bed was not made up, with the linens piled on top. We even had to put pillow & duvet cases on ourselves. I think I wouldn't have minded paying the extra cash if the bed had been made up for us, but the fact we just paid extra for someone to take some sheets out of a cupboard seems a bit rich! Our friends who stayed on the sofa bed said it was extremely uncomfirtable, and there was a lot of street noise in that room as it is technically the 'front' room. I'd say this is a great place to stay for a couple, but not great for four people.

The location is incredibly central, a five minute walk from Haymarket and about 20 minutes from Waverley. The rooms were spacious and in a lovely old building. We were sent the doorcode prior to arrival and it was easy to access the apartment.

Bedding was not clean. Bedding had hair from previous guest and even toilet seat had someone 's hair. Put me off to cut my stay and I checked out Saturday. Backyard was scary.

Location is definitely great, everything was nearby, its a big spacious apartment.

Street noise. A lot of the dishes were dirty when we arrived. Need to leave more dishwasher pods plus dish soap More toilet paper for four people needed.

Location was great but street noise was always there. Especially the dinging bell sound from the trams.

Could have provided Micro oven and sweeper. We booked one bedroom apartment but have mentioned 2 kids. Could have provided extra beds for kids.

Spacious rooms and modern kitchen. Very good for a family and kids. Well cleaned. Very good location.

We had some issues with some basic amenities - cooker didn’t work, window blind missing, fridge and bin in need of repair. The staff were wonderful and although unable to solve some things made sure we felt comfortable and gave us a complimentary meal. My only piece of constructive criticism to the management would be to change the title “5 star luxury”. It isn’t. It’s a very nice place to stay but the title creates very high expectations which the property doesn’t yet meet.

Very uncomfortable matrass of the sofa bed in the living room. Sound isolation is very poor. Noise from buses and trams are heard all night. Blackout In the living room is terrible. If you sleep on the sofa bed, I bet you get up on the first sunshine in the morning. Despite all the above drawbacks, they still charge an additional 25GBP for the sofa bed linens. Yes.. you read that correctly. Not all necessary bed linens are covered in the tariff.

The property was very spacious. The location was perfect, just a few minutes walk from the tram. Very clean! The host went above and beyond - we were in Edinburgh celebrating a 30th and the apartment was decorated with balloons etc!

It had a very unique style with the doorway leading into the bedroom being part of the wall. The kitchen would have been perfect for a bit of a Masterchef night with friends.

The decoration was tired, lots of marks on the walls and carpets. We were disappointed with the kitchen equipment in the property…no trays for cooking, limited condiments ie no salt, pepper, no dishcloth for washing up and the tee towel was smelly! The most disappointing was the poor customer service! We could not get into the property as we were not sent the key code and could not get a response on the emergency number. When we eventually spoke to someone they kept sending automated replies which did not answer or solve the problem!! When I booked the property I was told departure luggage storage was included which it wasn’t! Despite this being the fault of the company they refused to help and kept sending automated emails rather than speak with us! I found the staff to be unhelpful and very in personable. I regret to say, although we visit Edinburgh every year, I would not book with Altido again or recommend them and struggle to see how this property has been listed as 5star!

Decorative pillows and throw on bed where stained and dirty. The £20 charge for additional bedding for the sofa bed when the apartment is £680 for 2 nights I think is excessive. I think this should be absorbed in the £80 cleaning fee.
