There is a main street within a short walk if you need to get any supplies; there seems to be a pretty good variety of eateries too, although we did not visit any on this visit. Only drive to get there it’s at motorway M1 and M2 getting to places by public transport would leave you walking around to get to your destination. The hotels are in the welcome break stops which means you should be driving there the locality is not vibrant so your not going to see people about and plan your trip.

While across London with an hour and a half journey, having Heathrow and Cockfosters on the Picadilly Underground (tube) line meant a no change trip from the airport. Brooklyn House is about a ten minute walk to the tube and then about a 30 minute trip into Central London. Further it is on the bus route to the station with the bus stop over the road. The Cockfosters village is about a ten minute walk providing the essentials with a great baker shop.EmersonAustralia

We find the area a perfect place to get into London - we walked to High Barnet underground station, around 20 minutes.
