Barking, although recognised as a deprived area of London,...
Barking, although recognised as a deprived area of London, is a pleasant working class suburb of London. The streets were clean and during the day I was happy to see that the shops were all used and open for trade. The people were approachable and friendly (although as in most places there are bound to be others that are not). I went to a local cafe and had something to eat and drink, it was surprisingly cheap and good quality. As it was New Years eve, I had to return to the area in the early hours of the morning, however, felt safe doing so, (again just be aware of the surroundings and stay alert, but this would be the same in any area). Overall, I found Barking a lovely down to earth area.

For a 2 star hotel it rated well....staff were able to provide a fan as the room was not sufficiently cool enough for sleeping
Staff were friendly and cooperative...drawback location being some distance from Barking railway station...at least 15/20 minutes walk

The room was boiling hot. there wasn't any AC available. no spare pillows and bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. shower facility was very poor. the room was very small. They call it hotel but most of the customers looked like council use this place as refuge accommodate those people. very poor quality for the money. Totally waste of money and Saturday night.
Terrible area. Terrible hotel. Terrible everything there. Even thought you might be low on budget, do NOT stay at the bank hotel in barking if you care for your health. The place should close and be sanitized. All the furnitures, beds etc should be burned. I am NOT exaggerating.

The child bunk bed was very hard and uncomfortable and it was not made on arrival so we had to put sheets on ourselves bathroom had no lock and my 3 year old can easily open the door if i was using the toilet or shower! Keycards did not work and caused us a lot of frustration and really made our whole experience at the hotel very disappointing would not stay here again wasnt cheap to book this place either at £80 is definitely not a budget hotel the family room was very small for the price

Didn’t feel safe in Barking but we went to a Turkish restaurant around the corner from the dreams hotel and it was absolutely stunning really recommend that place if I could only remember the name of it lol
Price, excellent for any part of London. Bed so comfy! Tesco next door with ATM perfect for sticking up on room essentials eg food!/drink. Bus stop 5 mins away (tube to far to walk) and runs direct to Excel arena where I wanted. Staff helpful and someone was always at the front desk. Didn't use it but hotel has its own mini shop, with sandwiches, drinks, beers, snacks, pot noodles which is a good idea. Free WiFi was OK, not strong enough to stream any TV but you could use to download as long as you could wait (I did it overnight)
The stay at the bank hotel was not to the expectations of when I had done the booking. We faced multiple issues during our stay, No hot shower was available even after informing the reception. There was no kettle kept in the room. The kitchen was supposed to be available for guests but was under renovation which could not be used, This was extremely discomforting as we had carried food to be eaten during the trip.
very clean, spacious, heating and air conditioning also had a fridge and tv in my room as well as a kettle, a desk and chair, it was in a very popular busy fun area with lots to do so it was very accessible and a great location spot you won’t run out of things to do, and a massive range of buses to take you anywhere around london!
Had a lovely stay at Ibis Hotel Barking. A bit confusing with getting there as it shows up differently on Google Maps. Hotel situated a bit off the grid, making it a better stay for people arriving by car. 10-15 minutes walk to Barkin Station. Lovely staff and good breakfast!
The studio is amazing, this place is officially my second home when I'm in the area. It is clean, cosy and just perfect. The host is a great communicator and always available for questions. A must place to stay if you happen to be in Barking and having a night over.
First impression of the hotel is not good in terms of the infrastructure of the building however a great reception area. Carpet on stairs and hallway very tired It looks like the room has just been decorated and fitted with a new en-suite
Nice room, nice space. Had a private bathroom, not the cleanest but a good size with a good shower. We didn't expect too much as it was a cheap hotel, however some of the conditions were questionable even at price. Had a smart TV...
Very close to the train station, bus stop just across the road, food was very good, staff very polite, very clean, value for money, WIill definitely stay here anytime I visit London rooms very clean 😀
It is located very close to Barking station with access to the Underground, Overground and C2C lines. It is an average hotel with basic amenities that ticks a box.
.Better than expected for the price, location is OK, a bit sus in the evening but it's close to the Barking station. Comfortable bed for the price, big bathroom.
The rooms were just as the ones shown in the pictures. They are a bit small, but that is ok for a couple of nights. Similar to other Ibis Budget hotels.
I stayed just the night but I felt comfortable being there when I entered the room. I know barking quite well so the local shops are just down the road.
